Process
The personal project went through many different phases before the submission.
Brainstorming:
Firstly, I had to brainstorm many different ideas before choosing my final topic. My brainstorming was done with the help of a mind map. Some of the ideas regarding the way I wanted to display my work included a website, a game, and a documentary, etc. After I figured that out, I had to chose the overall topic. Once I reflected on my life and experiences, it brought me towards exploring my identity and the relationships I have.
Meetings with Supervisor:
After I finished brainstorming all of my ideas and choosing my final idea, I had my first meeting with my supervisor. In the meeting, I introduced myself and my potential topic to my supervisor. My supervisor gave me her idea and told me the things that I could improve on.
I had a meeting with my supervisor after the submission of each of the 4 criteria's (Criteria A, Criteria B, Criteria C, and Criteria D). In the meetings, my supervisor told me what I did well and what I could improve on for that criteria. This means that there were 4 meetings just to discuss feedback on the criteria's. Sometimes my supervisor gave me examples from other students which really helped me get a better understanding of how I had to improve it. I met my supervisor towards the end of the personal project so that we could fill out my academic honesty form and checklist. For my checklist, I ticked everything that I filled out in my report and gave it to my supervisor. Then, she looked through my report and made sure that everything was there so that she could sign it. As for the academic honesty form, I wrote down 3 meetings with my supervisor, my supervisor read it and signed it.
Process Journals:
After every meeting I had with my supervisor, I made a process journal talking about everything that was discussed in the meeting. I made a total of 10 process journals. 5 process journals were about meetings I had with my supervisor and the other 5 process journals were about different things such as almost missing a deadline, brainstorming, my action plan, my criteria which I followed, and interviewing my grandparents. Having a process journal helped me keep track of my personal project journey and helped me stay organized.
